Since 1975, the Psychiatrische Hilfsgemeinschaft PHG Viersen in Germany has been helping people with a mental illness. Organized under the umbrella of the German Parity Welfare Association, the Social Psychiatric Center offers many options in dealing with such an illness. They offer day care center or integration specialist services, as well as assisted living and housing for group of relatives options, youth welfare, or sociotherapy. The contact and counseling center is the point of contact for your questions and concerns and offers space for various self-help groups.
Since the employees have a lot of external appointments, it made sense to equip them with tablets, which allows them to document their activities with a mobile device. For this purpose, 40 tablets were purchased. A printing solution was required so that colleagues can also carry out work at home activities while on the move and to make it easier to print out documents created on the tablet. Most of the time, it is Word, Excel, PDF files or documents from a web application that are needed in paper form, and the printing process must be as simple as possible, as many employees are not technically proficient. One challenge for a printing solution is that there is a mixed printer landscape in the company and also at the employees’ homes. For example, printers from Kyocera, HP, Brother, and Canon are used. Most important to PHG Viersen is location-independent printing and user-authenticated printing, which ensures that only authorized users can print out their documents.
Andreas Schüren of Schüren EDV-Service, who provides IT support for PHG, is satisfied: “Everything is running smoothly. I am satisfied with the solution. The implementation was trouble-free.”
